Lily among the Thorns
A small figure wriggled in the den, stiff limbs stretching. It's eyes had been shut since birth, but now for the first time, the cub's brilliant turquoise irises took in her surroundings. She moved her head awkwardly, searching for something. The tiny bundle of fur didn't quite have mastery of her limbs yet, and she mewled a tiny chirp in frustration. Her eyes took in the dark den where she had been born, then the massive mound of red fur she was curled up against. Neither of these were the thing she was looking for. She suddenly felt a movement at her side, a slight kick. Her head swung- uncomfortable and unstable-to five other figures lined up like she was, against the big red fur. These she could identify as the other tiny chirps and mews she had heard before her sight had developed. But no, still she could not find what she was looking for.
The runt of the litter, whose pelt was a frosty white, with black paws like her father, and a short row of dots like her mother, could hear whispers. Not that she could identify them as such, words were still beyond her grasp. But she could feel the scrapings, the rustling of something in the den. She began to cry more fervently as the source continued to escape her.
Then, without warning, green began to shoot from between her paws. Little sprigs of life sprung from all around the cub, bending toward her little trembling form. Abruptly her cries stopped. The whispers were calmer now, caressing. She sighed, then lay her head on the soft grass that had grown around her, then quickly fell asleep.

Re: Lily among the Thorns
Adjatay felt the warm bundles of fur curled up against him, and for a moment, the creature's words faded away to nothing. He was alone with his siblings, and they were beautiful. He nuzzled each of them, licking the tops of their heads, but before reaching the runt, she managed to squirm away from her siblings, " Where are you going, Beautiful? " The creature scratched the back of his brain, but he pushed those evil thoughts away, his eyes softening watching her, " Come back, it's alright, Mom will be back to feed you soon. "
Aurora had gone out to stretch her legs for only a moment, leaving Adjatay with his siblings. As she rounded the corner, she saw Adjatay staring at the runt with the softest gaze she'd seen from him in a while, whom was squirming away from the rest.
" Whats wrong? Is she alright? " She worriedly walked in to the den to quickly grab the runt, but for a moment, she paused, because the flowers sprouted up, leaning towards the the cub, and she was soothed in to slumber.
" Nothings wrong, she was fine but she squirmed awa-- " He stopped, watching the Lillies appear, he gasped a little, " She's so young, and she's showing her unique powers... " He smiled, a soft purr radiating in his chest, " I think she's going to be fine Mom... Don't worry about her so much. "
She smiled, going to the cub, lightly picking her up and moving her with her siblings, " Thank you for watching them, and yeah, I think you're right.... " Purring softly, she licked her eldest son on the head, " I think I've finally picked a name for her, LilyStep... "
He purred, and blushed a little as his mother's affection, " That is a beautiful name... " He stood up to move for his mom, and suddenly the creature was in power again. He stalked to the mouth of the cave, his eyes steely and cold, " I have to go, there is a patrol that needs to be done. " He stalked off, without saying goodbye. The creature was hissing in his skull...
So those little fur bags can silence me? No, I will keep this in mind, I don't like losing control... You're mine, Adjatay, so keep that close to your thoughts always, next time I'll make you rip them apart and eat them, just to prove it....
For once, Adjatay's eyes, steely and cold, allowed tears to slip down his fur, while his face remained stern.

((AAHH! scary monster... He's a real killjoy, ruining a sweet moment like that. Putting Adjatay in there surprised me a little, I love it. ))
Re: Lily among the Thorns
(( I thought you would like that! I figured you meant a conversation was happening while she was doing this, so I needed two characters, and you mentioned she was going for the red thing, and Adjatay is red like his mom. Plus, this gives everyone a good luck at the real Adjatay, versus the Creature that controls Adjatay. I plan on doing a lot more of that when the chances arise. ))
